AMARA Aid is continuing to support the ‘Whisperers of the Jungle’ in Tanzania throughout 2010. The charity is currently supporting 76 young people with 20 children living at the ‘Whisperers of the Jungle’ home in Arusha. Two of the latest children to join the home are Adam and Tausi.

Adam is nine years old and was living on the streets of Arusha when a university student visiting from England befriended Adam and asked ‘Whisperers of the Jungle’ to take him into their care. She is financially helping with his education and general expenses. As the youngest in the home the teenage girls treat Adam as their little brother. It’s quite a turnaround for him coming
from the cruel streets to a home with 16 big sisters! Tausi is a fifteen year old orphaned girl who was working as a housemaid in Arusha in October
when she received terrible burns from a pot of hot cooking oil. Tausi has spent many weeks in hospital and one of the doctors requested ‘Whisperers of the Jungle’ to provide a safe place for her to live. Tausi has now joined the ‘Whisperers of the Jungle’ home and will start school in mid-2010 with the
support of AMARA Aid.

On 4th July 2007, the ‘Whisperers of the Jungle’ Orphan Project was officially launched in Arusha, Tanzania. More than 30 children who have been assisted by the project through donations from AMARA Aid attended the opening. The launch was chaired by the Arumeru District Commissioner and was attended by AMARA Aid volunteers Jim, Iris and Paul Stewart. The day’s programme included singing and drama by the children who were bursting with joy as they celebrated being members of the ‘Whisperers of the Jungle’ family.

During a visit to northern Tanzania, AMARA Aid volunteers Jim and Iris Stewart met today with small-scale farmers on the slopes of Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Each of these farmers had received heifers and goats as part of an AMARA Aid funded project in 2005. The recipients of the heifers had passed on female offspring to other needy farmer and earned £15 per month from sales of milk, a substantial amount for a poor who’s only other source of income is from two acres of coffee and bananas.

Our latest project is to support the “Whisperers of the Jungle” charity in Arusha, Tanzania. The project is in its infancy and we would appreciate your prayers as AMARA Aid sets up this new initiative. We would also value prayer for Cifa, the director of ‘Whisperers of the Jungle’, and the young people in their everyday lives.
Praise God that “Whisperers of the Jungle” is now a registered charity in Tanzania and the Lord is providing the necessary resources.
Please pray for Moshidian (one of the orphaned children from ‘Whisperers of the Jungle’) as his treatment for cancer is continuing in a hospital in Dar-es-Salaam. Praise God that his condition is such that he is now able to go back to school and we thank the Lord for the medical professionals who are taking care of him.
Please pray for journeying mercies for Paul as he continues to travel to Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania at Easter and USA in May 2007.
Praise God for His continuing care for Paul.
Please pray for the upcoming events that we will know God’s Blessing, and that in all we do, we will do for His Glory.
